As you enter your final semester, you will need to begin preparing for graduation. During this day, family and friends will have the opportunity to celebrate your achievements as a nursing student and watch as you walk the stage. The Student Success Center aims to provide a smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free graduation ceremony for you and your loved ones.

Honors designations are announced at graduation.
UNDERGRADUATES (Cum Laude: 3.40-3.599)
(Magna Cum Laude: 3.60 -3.799)
(Summa Cum Laude: 3.80 or above).
GRADUATES – (High Honors: 4.0).
Tickets are not required to attend graduation.
Please bring as many guests as you would like to share this memorable event with you.
A reception will not be held after the ceremony.
Regalia can be purchased through the Bookstore, 210-567-2840. Please contact the Bookstore to verify when you can begin purchasing items. You will not be able to purchase regalia at the ceremony.
Professional/business attire is expected. Athletic shoes, white or bright colored socks, jeans, and/or shirts will not be allowed. Also, remember to bring bobby pins to secure your cap.
Please remember to keep your graduation caps professional and appropriate. The School of Nursing asks that students refrain from placing "RN" on their caps.
Individual photos of each graduate receiving a diploma will be taken at the ceremony. Once the images have been taken and posted online, UTHSCSA will contact you with details
Please note, you will NOT receive your diploma at graduation. You may pick up your diploma at the Registrar's Office (located in the Medical School). If you do not pick up your diploma, the Registrar's Office will begin mailing diplomas as soon as they can.
