Gonzalez-Guarda, PhD, MPH, CPH, RN, FAAN, Duke University School of Nursing

Conference Learning Outcomes:

  1. Explain how expanding the diversity of healthcare professionals can better address the social issues related to access to care, including cultural practices, language barriers, and stigma.
  2. Describe research in health disparities, the development of strategies to reduce them and innovations in obtaining health and social services funding.
  3. Describe public health strategies in eliminating health disparities and policies that can improve social determinants of health.
  4. Understand how to advocate for social justice to address the inequities in the healthcare system as it relates to the social determinants of health.
