The School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a faculty position in the Department of Family Nursing Care. The School of Nursing is dedicated to achieving excellence in teaching, research, community service, and patient care. Educational programs offer degrees in Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy, with an average enrollment of over 500 students. The School's mission includes a strong commitment to the creation and dissemination of new ideas and knowledge through scholarly activity and community service at the local, state, and national level. The opportunity for interdisciplinary, cross-cultural research is encouraged and facilitated through school and campus initiatives.

The Department of Family Nursing Care has 40 faculty members who focus on maternal/child health, psychiatric/mental health nursing, geriatrics, and family practice, with Family Nurse Practitioner, Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Programs. Faculty members will have the opportunity for practice and are encouraged to maintain a funded program of research.

Successful candidates for the position will have the following qualifications: master's degree in nursing with ANP certification, national certification as a family nurse practitioner, teaching experience and ongoing scholarly activity.
