Continuing Nursing education programs are based on the belief that learning is a life long, self-directed process encompassing the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains. The department serves as a catalyst for providing exciting, accessible, professional, state of the art, quality continuing education programs for enhancing the professional growth and development of local, regional, national and international nurses.

To support the educational needs the department staff promotes education collaboration and operations with other local, regional and national organizations. We host regional, national, and international nursing conferences whenever possible.

Nursing School AuditoriumThe University of Texas Health Science Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. The activities meet Type I criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements toward re-licensure as established by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.

We will update and maintain the NCE web site, so that program information will be readily available to you. If you have any questions, would like additional information about these changes or have recommendations, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to continued excellence in providing opportunities for lifelong learning for nurses and for identifying and adapting new and innovative ways of delivering NCE.
