Dean's Office
The
Dean provides leadership in advancing educational programs; strengthening
research contributions; developing models of patient care and nursing
education; interacting with communities, health professionals, hospitals
and schools; expanding financial resources; and increasing national
and international prominence of the school.
The Dean is
responsible to and reports to the President of the HSC. The Dean
participates in administrative consideration of academic policies,
plans, and programs of the HSC. The Dean has general charge and
responsibility for all instructional activities in the school. Duties
include: recommending appropriate budgets; appointment, promotion,
retention, non-retention or dismissal of department chairs and other
administrative positions; and appointment, promotion, retention,
non-retention or dismissal for cause of all members of the faculty
and staff; she represents the school before accrediting bodies;
is responsible for executing academic regulations and procedures;
is responsible for chairing the faculty council/meetings of the
faculty called by the Dean; and is responsible for establishing
and appointing ad hoc committees or councils for the school.
Business
Office
The
mission of the business office is to provide day-to-day general
and administrative support to the faculty and staff in non-academic
matters. The Business Office is involved in budget, payroll, personnel,
and facilities management issues.
